How I stay Motivated

This question comes up a lot so I thought I would address it today on the blog! Despite popular belief, not every day am I super motivated to eat healthy and work out. I am human and some days are harder than others but, here are a few tips as to how I stay/have stayed consistently motivated throughout the years!

Set a goal.
You have to start with a plan of attack, duh! Start with a small goal. Write it down, get excited, MAKE.IT.HAPPEN. Once you smash one goal, set a new goal! Never stay complacent always strive to be better!

Celebrate each success.
I wonder where I would be in life if I didn't celebrate my weight loss, lifts, extremely hard workouts, long runs, healthy eating etc etc. I think it is crucial to treat yoself to stay motivated and keep up the hard work! It is OKAY to have a cheat meal or to buy yourself a new workout tank. You worked hard and you deserve it!

Take progress pictures.
I know people make fun of workout selfies and progress picture but to me, they are super important! Grinding day in and day out, sometimes won't see changes immediately like you expect. You won't see the number on the scale drop as quickly as you would like it too. With those progress pictures you will be able to validate all of that hard work even if you can see any changes physically or numerically!

Surround yourself with people who live the same lifestyle as you.
Self explanatory. The people you surround yourself with will motivate you on your weakest days and challenge you to be better!

I have been clean eating and workout consistency for the past four years and I haven't lost my motivation yet. If anything I am always on the quest to do something bigger and better. I am always asking the questions, "how can I better myself" and "how can I challenge myself". That is the reason why I registered for the Crossfit Open and the reason why I am training to run my second half marathon. I am always looking to be the best version of myself that I can be. Always in competition with myself!
