My trip to the plastic surgeon

Ah ha! I knew that title would get your attention!

Happy Friday people! I originally had a life update/Friday 5 post scheduled but decided to talk about my trip to the plastic surgeon instead! This will answer a lot of questions my friends and family members might have and also prevent people from asking me what happened to my lip (at least I hope).

So for those that don't know, I have been in and out of the dermatologist for the past couple of months. (TMI) Getting body scans, antibiotics, creams, moles removed the whole nine yards. The whole reason I even started this long quest of the dermatologist office is because of a tiny mole on my lip line. Cosmetically it has been driving me nuts because it has gotten darker and uglier which in turn has also been very nerve racking for me (see: worry wart) You always hear 'if a mole darkens and/or changes shape (which I found out mine has) it could be bad new bears! So make sure to get those moles checked out especially if you have noticed some change!

To make a long story short the regular dermatologist recommended a plastic surgeon because of the placement of the mole. Why on earth did the dang mole have to be ON my lip line. Not above not below. ON. So, to avoid any terrible mishaps and scarring I've been in and out of plastics getting things checkout out.

My 'surgery' was scheduled for this morning. Let me just tell you how unprepared I was. I didn't eat anything before I left then proceeded to bee-bop into the office acting like this would be a piece of cake. Wrong, so wrong I was.

What I thought would happen: A little numbing, a little scrape, neosporin and a teeny bandaid with a small scab.

What actually happened: Lots of cleaning alcohol, Justin Bieber Pandora, lots of napkins for blood purposes, a slip over my face, needles, watery eyes, digging into my lip, a burning smell(?!) stitches, and a big fat kylie jenner lip. Ugh. Trying to decide on what was funnier during the whole situation. The fact that I picked Justin Beiber Pandora to listen too or the fact that stitches came on AS the doctor was giving me stitches. I'll let you be the judge of that one!

If I could go back in time I would have scheduled thing dang surgery WAY before the Crossfit Open! (I also would have had a huge breakfast and maybe taken a shot of tequila.) Kidding! But seriously, call me dramatic but this is my life right now. So, I am home now the swelling has gone down significantly. I have to apply neosporin frequently and not smile and laugh super hard!???!!!!! So there's that. My stitches come out Wednesday so from now until then if you see me in person try not to stare at my weird lip situation.

^ me all day today (both pics via)

Have a splendid Friday and good luck to all of you if you are doing 16.1 tonight like I am. Prayers needed because 20 minutes is going to get SPICY!

Over and out,
