10 thoughts when buying a new car

I can't believe the day has finally come that I actually have a brand new car. Most of you out there don't know my car struggles but my friends IRL know all too well. Sorry friends.

I have been scooting around in a 2000 Camry since high school. That thing has been through the ringer. But, I was super blessed to have my grandpa give me that car!

This weekend I decided I would just test drive some small SUVs to get a feel for what I want. I was really wanting a Nissan Rouge or a Rav4. I was even considering something used. A sedan wasn't out of the question either, I have just had my eye set on a SUV. To make a long story short I saw great price on a beautiful fully loaded toyota camry se. Then, I called my mom to come up to Toyota, she did a little negotiating and we got the car. It wasn't that easy but the details are super boring so I will spare you. Here are some thoughts I had going through the car buying process.

1 Wow, cars are actually really expensive (duh Alex)

2 Car salesmen are SUPER pushy, sheesh. I have never experienced that before...

3 It is OKAY to say no

4 No, I will not come inside to get a quote I just want to look

5 I feel like I could have an anxiety attack right now.

6 I need my mom here

7 Wow, why would I buy a used car at the same price of a new car?

8 Wait. I have to buy my own full coverage insurance?

9 Why does buying a car take 8872763126 years

10 *When leaving the dealership in my new car* I feel like I am stealing this.

All in all I had a really great car buying experience. I got a really awesome deal and my car is SO pretty. I might have to paint my own nails and stop eating at Whole Foods every week to afford my new car payment but, whatever! Worth it.

Now, what to name her?

  1. Congrats on the new ride! Car buying is not easy...most salesmen need a refresher on when to back off!! Haha!
