My best friend that sometimes blogs over at JGP was kind enough to sent me her FitBit Surge to try out and see if I liked it!
You see, over the past couple of months Caley and I have been going back and fourth about which watch we should buy. Almost daily we text each other about which watch looks better, which watch has more specs, which watch has the most bang for our buck, which watch is the least bulky? I mean seriously we have had some serious issues. In the end Caley sent me her Surge to test drive and she ended up buying the super sweet Polar m400.
I have been using the Surge consistency for about a week now so I thought I would review it in case anyone out there is trying to decide on a fitness watch!
Pro: The watch is very sleek and clean. It makes my wrist look super sporty, which is important. Duh.
Pro: I love how you can swipe the watch to see all of your stats (steps, BPM, distance, calories and floors) as opposed to looking on the app with the Flex.
Pro: I LURV the gps run feature. One of my requirements for a watch was that it had gps running so I could finally run without my phone and the Surge has it, baby! Sold.
Pro: Oh, your not really into running? Don't you worry! You can choose from bike, hike, weights, elliptical, spinning and workout. SO.MANY.OPTIONS.
>> I have only tried the workout option and have used that option for my crossfit classes. Caley told me she would choose weights for the weigh lift and workout for the metcon. I keep meaning to try this and keep forgetting once I'm working out. Whoops. Next time.

Pro: The build in HRM is my saving grace and also another requirement for me. I can't deal with the HRM band you have to wear around your chest. The HRM on the Surge is build into the watch and it is FAB. Love love love.
Con: This isn't really a con for me but it could be for other runners. It doesn't physically show splits on the watch while you are running. The watch only shows time, distance and pace. You can sync it and look online for more info on your run splits etc. Not really a con? Just something I feel like you all should know.
Con: It is a bit bulky. I feel like no matter what kind of athletic/fitness watch you get they are all going to be on the bulky side. I almost wish the watch overall was a little bit smaller but, I say that coming from the skinny FitBit Flex.
Con: My last con promise because this really is such a great watch! I have issues syncing the watch. I'm pretty sure previously Caley had some issues as well. A lot of the time it won't sync and I have to psychically go in a pair the watch with my computer and app. I don't know if this is just me having an issue or if other Surge owners are having this issue too? SOS.
Overall, the watch is totally great. I highly recommend. My boyfriend also loves it so this could be a great Christmas gift for a boyfriend or husband!
Thank you Caley for sponsoring this post + letting me try out the Surge!
