Crossfit Competition

Hiya friends! Long time, no talk. I have spend the past few months wishing that I had kept up with my blog and all of my readers. I am very active on Instagram however, it is not the same as writing and sharing on a blogging platform. I say this every time I go on a small blogging hiatus but, I cannot believe seven months has gone by since I last hit publish. Time flies whether you want it too or not.

I thought about sharing pictures and highlighting some things that have happened since the last time I posted in February of this year. Instead, I will save some of the larger life changes for separate posts. Overall, I have just been living my life. Finding balance between work, friends, family, healthy eating, running and crossfit.

Yesterday, I came out of crossfit competition hiatus and did an intermediate team competition with some of my gym pals. It is always a humbling experience doing competitions. While they are super fun and exciting, in my opinion I think competitions really bring out personal weaknesses. Things I thought I was good at, maybe in reality I am not. I've said it many times before and I'll say it again that is why I love crossfit. It is always challenging. There are always things to improve upon. No movement ever gets easier. I think working out in a box with the same people at the same time everyday breeds slight complacency and I don't mean that in a bad way!! I think competitions give you a chance to workout against other folks from gyms around the area to give you diversity in training.

If you are deciding whether or not to do a competition I say go for it! Start out scaled with a team or scaled as an individual. While it is humbling, it brings out a fire within to push harder and go faster. The motivation (and hanger) that transpires post-competition is out of this world. #FuelTheFlame
